Hartley Valley Garden Festival and Plant Fair

Explore five diverse gardens at the Hartley Valley Garden Festival and Plant Fair, featuring historic buildings, vibrant cottage gardens, and serene Japanese influences. The event showcases a variety of plants, artwork, guest speakers, and the option to enjoy morning and afternoon teas or pack a picnic.

Participating gardens include:

  • Highfields: Renowned for its stunning views and diverse plant life.

  • Hartvale: A vibrant cottage garden with a focus on colour and creativity.

  • Gory'u Japanese Gardens: An enchanting experience with Japanese Maples and serene landscapes.

  • Harp Of Erin: A historic site featuring beautiful gardens and local artwork.

  • Wild Meadows: A seasonal garden bursting with colours and unique plant species.

No booking is required; just pay at each garden gate. Enjoy plant sales, artisan stalls, and delicious food offerings throughout the weekend.

Lithgow Halloween 2024: ‘Libre de Faire’

Join us for Lithgow Halloween 2024, themed ‘Libre de Faire’, which means ‘free to be’ or ‘free to make’. This event encourages everyone to express themselves through costumes and cosplay while celebrating with family in the safe environment of Lithgow’s Main Street.

The festival will be illuminated with stunning projections and feature lighting, creating a magical atmosphere. Activities are divided into three precincts:

  • Wicked Lane: Features a concert stage with bands, dancers, fire stunts, food stalls, and markets.

  • Freak Street: Offers cosplay opportunities, fire stunts, reptile displays, LED dancers, and chill zones.

  • The Haunted Highway: A family-friendly area with face painting, a jumping castle, spooky backdrops for photos, and more.

A parade led by the Faery Queen will occur at 5:00 PM and again at 6:45 PM, with a strong police and security presence ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
